The licensing deal with Safety Technology authorised GRCC to become the first college in the US to offer this certified programme.
GRCC President Steven Ender said "I consider this making an investment in our community", "this is a well-known training programme, and I think it will go toward making this area a leader in the field."
Safety Wire System installed at Blackpool Pleasure Beach - During December Safety Technology Ltd has been working with the engineering department on Blackpool Pleasure Beach to install a safety wire system on the rides. This fixed wire system, the only one of its kind, enables the engineers to conduct their regular checks of the rides without risk of falling. Our fixed wire system with a special trolley, which will arrest even on the incline, makes the engineers job a lot safer.
So far the system has been installed on the Big Dipper, Grand National, Wild Mouse, and The Rollercoaster.
